Ban on CPI(Maoist)renewed for a year

HYDERABAD:The State Government has renewed the ban on the CPI (Maoist) for a period of one year with effect from August 17.

By a GO (No:515), the Government declared the CPI (Maoist) as unlawful association under AP Public Security Act, 1992. The ban was imposed on the CPI (Maoist) on August 17, 2005 and it was being renewed every year.

The latest GO said that the ban was imposed after the Government found that the CPI (Maoist) was continuing to indulge in unlawful activities and that if such activities were not stopped, they would constitue a serious danger and menace to public order, peace and tranquility.
