‘Warning bell’: Maoists

JEYPORE: Breaking a long silence, the Maoists of Orissa-Andhra Pradesh Border Committee said the attack on Greyhounds was a ‘warning bell’ to the government.

In a press statement circulated to the media, secretary of Andhra Orissa Border Committee said the Maoists had been targetting Greayhounds in different parts of Andhra and Orissa since long and had failed in their attempt to attack them in Gunkorai in Andhra Predesh recently.

However, the Maoists got a big success by attacking the Greyhounds in the reservoir and it was a big blow to the Government.

He alleged that the armed police have been continously harassing the innocent tribals in different parts of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh which would not be tolerated by Maoists.

The police had killed 24 Maoists in one year and booked 100 persons under fake Naxalite cases, he added and warned that the Maoists would continue their fight against police ‘atrocity’ and the recent attack was a ‘warning bell’ to the State Government
