Naxal extremists in West Champaran district on Wednesday morning blew up railway tracks between Badagopal and Avtar Nagar railway stations to mark Bihar bandh called by various hardcore extremist outfits to protest police operation against them in Bihar and Jharkhand states.
As reported, hundreds of Maoist guerillas on Wednesday morning rigged the railway line with powerful explosives causing much damage to the tracks while also disrupting the traffic for over six hours.
Railway lines were also blown up in Chhapra and Narkatiaganj though damages were deemed to be minimal.
Meanwhile, the bandh paralyzed lives in Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Arwal, and Aurangabad where shops and offices remained closed to avoid any untoward incident.
