Maoists’ fresh threat

BERHAMPUR: Maoists have reportedly threatened Bhanjanagar police. The letter, addressed to the OIC, reached the police station by post on Saturday stated the attack would be taken up within ten days in all important offices and police stations.

So far the genuinity of the letter coudld not be ascertained, but it was posted at Saranakula in Nayagarh district. The letter was being examined at DIG office here, but to leave no scope, massive police force has been sent to Bhanjanagar.

Paralakhemundi:

Srikakulam Divisional Committee CPI (Maoist) secretary Dayananda who in a letter last week claimed responsibility for two killings at Rayagada and at Gotholopadar, has now threatened to punish persons indulging in antipeople activities in Paralakhemundi area in Gajapati.

The Maoist leader in his recent letter stated that since past somedays some persons have been making frantic efforts to defame Maoists.

The letter said that some persons in the name of Maoists had been collecting donations and torturing public in remote areas.

Police, however, expressed ignorance over the matter and stated that strict vigil is being maintained at all vulnerable places
