KOLLAM: Poet and leader of the Revolutionary Writers Association in Andhra Pradesh, P Varavara Rao, has said that the coming together of Muslims and Maoists is a welcome development.Speaking at the meeting organised here to mark the first martyrdom of Sende Rajamouli on Saturday, he said Muslims are the biggest group fighting against the US imperialism all over the world, the other group being the Maoists. He said that there is no secret organisational link with the Maoists and outfits like the SIMI as propagated by the intelligence agencies."Communists will never go for any truck with non-revolutionary organisations even when supporting their just cause. We do support the just demands of the nationalist groups like Kashmiris for self-determination", he said.Rao said all the parliamentary political parties are sinking their differences in supporting the development projects evolved by the World Bank.
There is no difference among the CPM, Congress or BJP in offering support to the Special Economic Zones।The SEZs are the alien land created within the country and the MNCs are holding lands in these zones. “Now, MNCs have become the biggest landlords in the country. The erstwhile CPI-ML (People’s War) had evolved an alternative model of development when the Centre introduced the New Economic Policy in 1990s.People fighting at various parts of the country are finding it difficult to resist the resist the onslaught of the MNCs who grab the land from the locals."But no big company could set its foot in Chhattisgarh because of the strong presence of the revolutionary movement," Rao said. The meeting was organised by the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF), a frontal organisation of the CPI (Maoist), to remember Rajamouli, who was killed by the Andhra police last year.RPF state president K Rajasekharan, secretary Ajayan Mannur, CHRO secretary Abdul Salam, PUCL leader P A Pouran and human right activist Eldo attended
