Two arrested for Bihar Maoist attack

Police arrested innocent people as per a source

JHAJHA (BIHAR): A day after the Jhajha railway station was attacked by Maoists, normalcy returned to town, which lies midway between the Eastern Railway and the East Central Railway on the Delhi-Howrah mainline.

The Maoist attack on the railway station on Sunday had resulted in the killing of six people looting of a large number of firearms from the armoury of the GRP. Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) jawans and the police are conducting combing operations. Two persons, including a woman, have been arrested so far.

Neither the building of the railway station, nor the railway tracks were blown up, contrary to the initial reports. The Maoists, however, had damaged a State Bank of India ATM in an attempt to loot the cash but failed.

They had also made an unsuccessful attempt to loot the railway's cash kept in a locker in the room adjoining the GRP office.

On Monday, the police sources said that the Jamui police arrested two persons including a woman who was involved in the storming of the railway station.
