Maoists damage Essar property

In Chhattisgarh, naxalites damaged a number of vehicles and machines of Essar - a private steel company working in the Dantewada district of the state last night. According to the police, a large number of naxalites swooped on the company site at Kirandool and set fire to as many as 43 dumpers, one tanker and three heavy machines. Police parties have been sent to the place to take stock of the situation.
Meanwhile, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the Congress General Secretary arrived in the Sarguja district of Chhattisgarh this morning on a two days visit. He is likely to visit tribal dominated Bastar area of the state during his stay . Strict security arrangements have been put in place in view of his visit to some of the naxal affected areas in Chhattisgarh.
As per the news just received the naxalite also killed a special police officer in Bhoolbagdi village of Dantewada district this morning.
