Colombian goalkeeper Rene Higuita will ask to remove terrorist label on FARC

Caracas, Jan. 28th, ABN.- The Colombian goalkeeper René Higuita expressed that he would start a dialog with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and that he would ask to an international European committee to withdraw the terrorist status to this organization.

Higuita admitted that he would like to go to the Senate and he pronounced in favor of a humanitarian swap, he declared to EFE agency in Argentina.

Even though he stressed that his affair 'regards to football' and he does not think about quitting, Higuita admitted to be fan of the Venezuelan president, Hugo Chávez, to whom he thanked his participation in order to manage that the FARC would release Clara Rojas and Consuelo Gonzalez de Perdomo, at the beginning of this month.

“I love socialism. I watch him (To Chávez) at Aló, Presidente (Sunday TV and radio show). I am an admirer of him and to know him is one pf my dreams. I wish I could have an encounter with him at his program,” indicated the famous Colombian goalkeeper.
