PWG activist held in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Malla Raja Reddy, a senior leader of the Naxalite outfit Peoples War Group (PWG), was arrested from a town in Ernakulam district late Monday night, along with a woman associate.

The two were arrested from Angamali by a police team from Andhra Pradesh, who went there on a tip off, Kerala police sources said.

The presence of the two PWG activists came to the notice of the local police only after their arrest by the Andhra Pradesh police.

A team of local police rushed to the scene of the arrest after a crowd gathered there. The two were then taken away by the Andhra Pradesh police after showing the arrest warrant issued by a lower court in that state.
